Traditionally, reverse engineering of a part could only be done through visual inspection and manual sizing. Currently, new data collection technologies allow millions of points to be collected per second, speeding up the process significantly.
DATA PROCESSING
The most modern CAD software such as Geomagic Design X, allow you to take the point clouds delivered by scanners and optimize them, aligning the data, eliminating noise and combining redundant data.
Subsequently, the triangulation allows to generate a mesh, which is then optimized, smoothed, holes and unwanted geometries are eliminated.
3D MODELING
Geomagic Design X combines classic CAD design tools such as extrude, revolve, and cut with mesh-based tools, allowing for fast and seamless modeling of the original part.
